Control Diet
Struvite Urolithiasis Diet has been implicated as one factor in the formation of struvite bladder crystals and stones usually associated with bacterial urinary tract infections. Canine Control Formula reduces the likelihood of struvite urinary crystal and stone formation and helps maintain a healthy urinary tract while providing a complete and balanced diet for the long-term nutritional needs of adult dogs. Minerals (Magnesium, Ammonium, and Phosphate) are less soluble in alkaline urine (pH>7) and can aggregate to form struvite. Reducing minerals as well as keeping the urine pH moderately acidic has been shown to reduce the risk of struvite formation.

Development Diet
Recuperation from Surgery/Trauma/Debilitating Illness Dogs recovering from traumatic events have special needs for increased nutrition and often have poor appetites. Development Formula provides increased essential nutrients in a highly digestible and extremely palatable formulation to address the increase in nutritional requirements for dogs recovering from trauma, surgery, parvo enteritis, and other debilitating conditions. Added fructo-oligosaccharides and glutamine help maintain a healthy digestive tract.

Hifactor Diet
Fiber-Responsive Disorders Colitis is a group of disorders of the lower bowel resulting in clinical signs such as diarrhea and irregularity, which can benefit from a high fiber diet. Canine Hifactor contains optimal levels of fiber and has been supplemented with fructo-oligosaccharides. It contains a balanced blend of soluble and insoluble fiber for GI tract health and for the dietary management of colitis, constipation, hyperlipidemia and diabetes.
Obesity Obesity can lead to an increased risk of medical problems, including musculoskeletal stress, decreased mobility and cardiovascular compromise. Hifactor Formula has been designed with reduced energy [20-30% fewer calories] and fat [40-50% less] levels and increased fiber using Control as the point of comparison. It is ideal for use as part of a weight reduction program and for the management of obesity.

Mature Diet
Older Adult Aging in the dog can be associated with changes in body functions that result in hypertension, loss of water-soluble vitamins and bowel irregularity. Canine Mature Formula is specially formulated to provide a complete, nutritionally balanced diet for mature dogs. It is reduced in sodium for hypertension, formulated with fewer calories provided by protein for cases of early renal disease and provides a moderate increase in fiber to aid in normal intestinal motility. Mature also contains controlled levels of phosphorus and has added potassium citrate for acid-base balance. This highly palatable diet is suitable for dogs with early heart failure and early renal disease.
Weight Control (Prevention) Obesity can lead to increased risk of medical problems and weight control becomes more problematic in older dogs where calorie requirements often decrease. Overweight dogs are frequently less active than normal weight dogs and have lower energy requirements for maintenance. Mature Formula has been designed to provide dogs with a moderate calorie restricted diet for maintenance of their optimum body weight.

Modified Diet
Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) Excessive protein and phosphorus in the diet can exacerbate the clinical symptoms associated with CRF. Canine Modified uses the highest quality sources of low phosphorus protein to safely restrict these nutrients. To assist in the management of hypertension, sodium has been restricted, while B-vitamins have been increased to overcome the losses of these nutrients associated with CRF. This formula contains the highest levels of potassium citrate for acid-base balance and alkaline urine.
Primary Calcium Oxalate Urolithiasis Modified Formula has been designed to help reduce the incidence of calcium oxalate uroliths. It is significantly reduced in calcium and sodium to decrease calciuria. It is reduced in protein (source of oxalate) and produces urine pH > 6.7. It is increased in B6 vitamins and has the highest inclusion of potassium citrate, an inhibitor of calcium oxalate urinary crystal and stone formation, of any Select Care canine diet.
Congestive Heart Failure High blood pressure often accompanies heart failure, increasing the myocardial workload in a situation that already forces the heart to work at maximum capacity. Modified Formula contains less than half the sodium of most adult foods and is an excellent therapeutic aid in the treatment of hypertension. It is also supplemented with taurine and L-carnitine.
Hepatic Insufficiency Excessive protein in dogs with compromised hepatic function can lead to or exacerbate encephalopathy. However, excessive protein restriction can worsen their condition. Modified Formula provides restricted but high quality, easily digested protein to reduce unnecessary nitrogen in the diet while supplying essential protein (amino acid) requirements.

Neutral Diet
Gastrointestinal Disorders Canine Neutral is a gluten-free diet formulated with a unique blend of high quality, easily digested protein and carbohydrate sources. It contains optimal levels of soluble and insoluble fiber with added fructo-oligosaccharides and glutamine to help maintain a healthy intestinal tract. Neutral Formula is a low fiber, highly digestible diet with high levels of anti-inflammatory omega 3 fatty acids like EPA and DHA. It has been designed for dogs with non-fiber dependent upper or lower bowel disorders, including cases of inflammatory bowel disease responsive to low fiber dietary management.

Sensitive Diet
Gastrointestinal Disorders Acute gastroenteritis is a common problem in dogs of all breeds and ages. Improved Select Care Sensitive formula is specially formulated from highly digestible protein and carbohydrate sources. This formula also features added fructo-oligosaccharides, which help maintain a healthy digestive tract, along with glutamine to provide an energy source that can be used directly by intestinal cells. Now enhanced with a newly formulated lamb flavoring, improved Select Care Sensitive Formula is three times more palatable and is an effective natural diet for dogs with acute gastrointestinal problems. It is also ideal for long-term feeding.
Pancreatitis/Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) Feeding small amounts of low fat foods following acute or relapsing pancreatitis is important in the therapy of these disorders. Sensitive Formula provides a low fat, highly digestible diet beneficial in the nutritional management of these pets. The addition of amylase, lipase and protease in the dry formula makes it an ideal diet for dogs with EPI.
